Enterprise bureaucracy remains strong, talented folks spend decades climbing the ladder. The new grad lifestyle too good to give up, embrace the Corporate Wagie.
Trying to learn the game of corporate politics is not the best use of my energy, middle manager is not my goal. I'll aim to play well enough to identify asymmetric opportunities when they arise, but day to day just offer actionable insights to consistently make things a little bit better.
Avoid the energy drain of pointless meetings, use it for passion. Like Jarvis v0.
Inspired by Iron Man since a young age, I'd like to start working my way towards a primitive version of Jarvis. These AI tools are abundant out there, this is where I should be spending my energy to explore new tech. Rather than try to grind my gears through quicksand, learning microservice design patterns and explain engineering realities to product managers, explore the newest frontiers. "Skate to where the puck is going," if you will.
Early Concept:
- Voice-to-Text, transcription is a solved problem at this point.
- Model Response, large language models are openly available.
- Private Context, I'd like to explore how to best maintain context while being able to plug different models in and out.
- Try "Vibe Coding" projects, sharing them online.
Sounds like a better use of time to me. Potentially more fun, and rewarding. God knows I have to trick myself into being fired up to go to the office tomorrow and sit through All-Hands sessions.
